I've lived here for over 7 years. It wasn't bad at first, not great but not bad, however ever since the apartment contracted with the art school the place has turned into a disgusting, dirty, smelly, and NOISY dormitory. There are students running up and down the halls in the middle of the night (weeknights mind you) yelling, sometimes spraying grafitti (which stays on the walls for months until they finally get it cleaned off), punching holes in the walls or smashing the fire extinguisher containers. 90% of the time the fire extinguishers are missing, which I'm sure doesn't meet the fire marshal's code. The place has gone down hill and is still going. I agree with most others, the management seem ignorant and incompetent these days as well. They recently spent a ton of money re-painting the outside of the buildings (which badly needed it), but I can't imagine that this would be priority over the inside of the buildings badly needed repairs (for example, the defective fire alarm system which wakes you up every couple months and makes your eardrums bleed). If they at least ended the contract with the art school it would be a huge leap in the right direction, but there are still the maintenance, uncleanliness and lack of security to deal with. I'll be moving soon, thank God, but don't wish my available apartment on my worst enemy.
