We moved into Forest Ridge the end of May 2006. When we went into the office to sign our paperwork the girl (------) automatically printed a 1 year lease without even asking. We noticed the mistake and told her we did not want a 1 year lease. She reprinted off the paperwork, and we trusted her that the paperwork was now correct and signed it. WE STILL ENDED UP SIGNING A 1 YEAR LEASE WHEN WE DIDN'T WANT ONE!!! When we went to put in our 30 day notice not only did we find out we still signed a 1 year lease but they had actually put in an 18 month lease!!! When we brought it up to management all they could say was "We would never have done that"!
We had severe ant problems and when we told the office about it the girl said, "We can have someone come out and spray but honestly it won't get rid of them"!!! They illegally towed our car (they broke two Oregon Statutes when they did this) and blamed it all on us! Not to mention that there were absolutely no 'towing' signs posted anywhere and when I asked about this the management said they took them down because they thought the signs were ugly. (Which again broke a towing law.)There is never any parking!
The apartments offer free tanning to tenants. I got off work at 5pm one day, walked to the office and got there around 5:15. The office doors were closed with a sign that noted 'We're out leasing an apartment please wait and we'll be with you.' I waited for over 1/2 an hour, when someone finally got back into the office I asked if I could please tan for 10 minutes and was rudely told, we we close in 10 minutes so sorry, no you can't use the tanning bed. When I told them I'd been waiting to use it for over 1/2 an hour all she could say, rudely, was 'Sorry we're closing'.
Every time I put in a maintenance request they either never showed up or showed up days later than what I was told and the job was never done correctly!
After doing some research I found out tons of other people have had the same lease problems, ant problems and rude management. Plus, this apartment complex has been sued...TWICE!!!
The doors to their bedrooms are so cheap that after tripping over the rug and trying to catch himself with the door, my fiance accidentally put his hand through the door. I talked with the management about this issue and they said, "Don't worry about it, it'll only cost maybe $60 and we'll just take it out of your deposit." Come to find out, a friend of mine used to live here and the same thing happened to her. They charged her $300 for the door!!! That's our entire deposit!!!
Almost every other review I've read about these apartments have said the same thing...that they were charged ungodly amounts for things they shouldn't have been charged for and nobody has EVER gotten their deposit back!!!
When our lease was FINALLY up, they sent us a letter stating that if we decided to stay and signed another lease our rent would go up $75. If we decided to stay and go month-to-month the rent would go up $150!!!!! Again, I've heard the same issues in all the reviews I've read!
DON'T LIVE HERE AND IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO'S LOOKING AT THESE APARTMENTS PLEASE, PLEASE WARN THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could have known this.. I wrote a complaint letter to both the management at Forest Ridge and Pinnacle. I even wrote to the better business bureau... the management doesn't care... at all!! I am still waiting on a response. I don't receive phone calls back when I leave messages, they don't care about their residents, it is just a mess. If you want to help with the cause to change the policy here, please let me know.

Gawd, your experience sounds horrifically similar to mine....ants, lying management, rude management, never getting a return phone call, on and on and on....I sure wish I had been informed about this place before I moved in...I am soon moving OUT and by God, they'd better not think they're keeping a penny of my deposit!!!

i like how the contract issues is YOUR responsiblty to read in full as it is legal binding.. and the rest of your claims would have no evidence to prove you had these issues.. hear say only..
