Tenancy started out ok; gals in the office friendly, caring and helpful. Price for value appeared to be comparable-but expected more from 'luxury apartments.' If you value your privacy, belongings and safety, would not suggest you move there. Unresolved issues of suspected illegal entry by employees. Manager, albeit concerned and appeared to desire to change situation, did not however, appear to be empowered to do so to protect tenants. Apartment cabinets and shelves were poor in quality and design. Smoking not allowed in units so tenants smoked on balconies or patios, thus causing smoke to drift onto patios and balconies of nonsmokers - intolerable situation. Was pretty in the snow and the view to the west was very nice. Recycling and trash areas almost always cluttered and dirty; if management wants tenants to recycle, it should empty recycling bin more frequently or put another one on site - was discouraging at best.

Amen. we are living in Eola Heights now in west Salem and although apartment living isn't our ultimate goal, the accomodations here are far,far better for the same price. Gateway Village is completely cheap and ghetto. I was embarrassed to live there.

Interesting how almost all comments on this site, for any given property, are negative, from people who want to gripe. Seems as if upset people have more time in their day to vent and those that are happy have better things to do...at least for the last year anyway. No comments since this time in 2008. Must be ok since last year!

I did not break the rules. The rules and the law were broken by staff (my contention....was denied); they would not own up to it. Moved away to more secure apartment complex where my apartment was not compromised by staff. That's why no complaints in last year....don't live there anymore....enjoyed living there until the end of the lease.
