Very poor construction

My husband and I moved here from out of state. We looked at this complex online and were impressed with it's appearance. When we met with the leasing agent, we found her to be very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately she has since moved on. We don't have any issue with the current management or maintenance dept.
The apartment construction is another story. While it is pleasing to the eye, there is no quality in the construction. The kitchen counter has bubbles in it and is literally curved down. The doors have such gaps in them that the office actually puts all messages, newsletters and even lease copies through the door. The gaps are so great in the back door, that we get a breeze even when the door is shut. This also allows for pest to find their way in. When trying to hang curtains, we discovered the windows are crooked. There are gaps in the carpet padding, some areas are too thick so the door to the front closet gets stuck. There is glue on the cabinet doors, and the place was never painted. We hear every step our upstairs neighbors make, and they are not heavy people. The doors close automatically and when they do, it shakes the whole building. We try to close them quietly. And as other reviewers have said, the concrete stairs are very noisy. Finally, our dryer has been replaced due to the fact that it seemed to take two cycles for it to dry a normal size load. New dryer, same problem. This apartment is not very energy efficient. I don't believe that the insulation is adequate. I certainly would not recommend moving in here and if given the chance to speak with a prospective tenant would tell them so.
