I ve lived @ Gateway for almost two years now and am very happy. I have owned my own home and have rented at other places and as for rental; this place has been the best.
I also moved in as they were phasing out dogs and I m glad to say that they did. Don t get me wrong, I love dogs but there were way too many people who would walk their dogs where they couldn t be seen and didn t clean up after them (like under my window). I like that they fine for leaving trash out. I don t want to live in a place where people leave garbage lying around the stairwells. The fines don t come as quickly as people have let on. I ve put mine out in the morning and I ve never been fined in the hour and a half it takes me to take it out on my way to work. The stairways are a bit noisy if someone s running up and down them, but that doesn t happen near me very often. I do agree with the complaint of people smoking on their balconies. The smell does waft around, but there s nothing the complex can do about that. They can t stop people from being inconsiderate.
As for management, I ve been very impressed so far. The one time I had to call maintenance it was a holiday and the apartment manager himself came up to stick his hand down my garbage disposal and pull out a persistent baby carrot. You can t argue with service like that. The one time I had a mix up with my rent and was going to be beyond the grace period they were understanding and very easy to work with. Parking is at a minimum but the complex is strict with towing who doesn t belong or is parked in the wrong place, with some common sense it s really a non issue.
The trash areas don t get that cluttered. The complex has put up a privacy fence so you re not staring at trash containers and they are VERY strict about not leaving your trashing laying around out there so it s not as bad as it s been made out to be.

If this is the best place you have ever lived, you REALLY need to get out more--seriously ghetto. Cheap cheap cheap--and ugly apartments.
