Went to get an Apartment

Went to get an apartment last year or try actually. The girl/woman was just rude an acted as if we were lesser of a human being then her. I was very disappointed, when we asked to see an apartment she acted as if we were bothering her day of sitting around doing nothing. After being rushed thru the apartment we went back down to the office to be told that the application fee was 60 each. However when I called I was told it was only 25 a person. Whoever owns this complex should seriously look into there staff. I would never rent from these people or even tell someone to go in an try to get a place. As for what other people say on this site, I would have to believe all the bad, since they tried to get extra money out of us. Look some where else. Not worth it. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH

You are a liar. Due to Fair Housing anything that is said to on the telephone shall be said to you in person. All property management teams are required to be consistant with all prospects. Standard application fees in the Salem area are typically $35, unless there are specials. What I personally think is that you misunderstood the Rep that was assisting you. No need to come down on the innocents, because you feel like a jack ass.

Liar? Just because Fair Housing requires something doesn't mean all leasing agents do it! Maybe the leasing agent just didn't want to deal with these people....who knows...Don't call name just because you can't see two sides to a story.

I also never experienced this problem. The staff was friendly to me the first day we came here and have been friendly ever since. We signed for a place the same day we saw it. We were taken through the apartment, given a choice of them, we were impressed with how nice the staff was, and how comfortable they seemed in answering questions.

SuperFlyNenie's response is the epidomy of how the staff treats tenants. They are uncaring, unprofessional (jack ass and liar...come on), rude, and throw out the names of Housing Acts they've memorized hoping to scare tenants away with their "knowledge" of the law (which they know nothing about). I had a problem with some of the fees they were charging me and the extremely rude staff member began telling me that such fees were federally mandated. When I told her I have experience in landlord tenant laws and know they are absolutely not federally mandated she began to change her story and tell me that it is people like me who wanted the fair housing laws and that now I need to deal with it. I don't remember lobbying the legislature for such laws, and what exactly is a person like me....a grad student who also works??? Not only are they rude but they are obviously less than bright, considering they don't see how a staff member would charge people more than the actual application fee and pocket the excess, even in the face of numerous laws against such behavior, including the Fair Housing Act (kudos to you for remembering the name!). Perhaps such business knowhow on the part of the management actually explains why the place is such a dump and ran so poorly. And Jesca1976....you are obviously a member of management so take your own advice about management not bolstering the statistics with their own reviews.
