Decent facilities & management shifting

I lived at Southpoint for nearly 4 years.

When I moved in the rent was $430/month, and when I left it was $480/month.

There was a more residential feel to this quiet part of Boone Rd, but they tore down several houses and built an Arbys right next to the complex.

Thats bothersome in the summer when Id smell roast beef on hot days.

However, the nearby Sharis already lent a vaguely potato smell, so it wasnt so bad.

The location is convenient, just a minute from I-5, Kuebler & Commercial - 3 vital veins of South Salem.

The grounds are well kept, but rather bland in terms of landscaping.

Theres adequate grass for children to play on, and the complex is in a good school district.

The units themselves are approximate 800 - 900 sq.

feet for 2 bedrooms, 2 bath ones.

They are clean and have modern fixtures and accents.

The kitchen appliances were rather small and basic, but this is not uncommon in apartments.

In general, the area is well lit and safe feeling.

Parking may be bothersome, as the parking lot is shaped like a zigzag almost, and there are few visitor spots.

I had to park several times on the gravel shoulder of Boone when coming home late from work with my 2nd car.

The only real problem I ever had while living at Southpointe was with the frequent management turnover.

There were probably about 5 or 6 different managers in the 4 years I lived there.

This made it hard to establish a working relationship, and to keep in contact as the phone number would change frequently.

When I first moved in, the screen door on the master bedroom slider was broken and off the track.

I contacted each manager to fix it; they all promised it was on order.

When I moved out, the screen was still not fixed.

Annoying, to say the least.

However, with every other maintenance problem I had, the management responded promptly and did a good job fixing the problem.

Overall, I would recommend Southpointe to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive, middle of the line apartment home.
