I would recommend this complex to any one that is looking for a friendly staff, great location, and adequate facilities. The open area along the river is a great place for solitude. Is it the far reaches of a great wilderness, no but you won't find this kind of open space associated with an apartment complex very often. The noise from adjoining apartments is minimal. The noise from the apartment above is tolerable.

If transportation is an issue Avalon is on a major bus line. There are two express buses in the morning and evening and the local runs from 4:30 am until 1:30 am. Getting where you need to be is not a problem.

Depending on where your apartment is parking can be an issue. If you have two cars be aware of the parking available for the apartment you are interested in. There are some garages, 17 I think, getting one is a crap shoot. I waited over a year for a garage; I spoke to a new tenet that got a garage when he moved in.

The staff is responsive to needs. I admit that I am a pretty low maintenance individual but the requests I have made have been attended to in a timely fashion. I appreciate the effort the staff takes to make sure I am aware of what is happening in the complex. Recently the complex was painted. The staff made sure that we were informed each step of the process. In fact today I receive a call on my cell phone to let me know that the crew was done painting my building. That was above and beyond the call of duty as far as I am concerned.

And to the staff: Thank you for listening to an old fartyou guys are the greatest.
p.s. I should at least get a second billing for a pizza lunch, dont you think.:-)

The noise from neighbors may be tolerable, but you can't leave your windows open unless you want to listen to all the traffic noise from the freeway. There is even a fire station DIRECTLY across the street. Talk about NOISE! Sometimes you have to wait for 10 minutes just to get in or out of the property because of heavy traffic on the highway. I'm speaking of highway 99W ... the main route used by the drunks heading to and from the casinos at the coast.
