The apts are generally appropriately priced and safe.
However, there are several precautions you would be wise to take prior to settling in.
When the move-in inspection is done: make sure that the apt personnel accompanying you remains until the apt is thoroughly inspected.
They will hurry through and assure you that minor flaws are not of importance when it comes to maintaining your "deposit".
This is false.
I would strongly recommend pictures be taken of every area regardless of whether they are damaged or not.
Also understand that the so-called deposit is above and beyond the fees that the contract states are to be used to deduct what they deem beyond normal wear and tear.
They take it out of your deposit.
Another reason to thoroughly document every spot or imperfection.
Read your contract very carefully and ask questions regarding the use of "fees" vs.
"deposits".
Any clarifications on their behalf should be in writing and signed by the apt personnel.
Keep a dated copy for your records and ensure that a copy goes into your file at the apt.
office.
The same should be followed at check-out.
Document everything.
