We have been residents for 18 months. We went into the leasing office tonight to re-new our lease (yes, re-new) and we'd like to tell you why: TARA! We are in a position where we could move, but we have decided not to. That is largely in part due to Tara's vast and great efforts over the last year. Our time at Brightwaters started off tumultuous with 4 managers in 6 months and not to mention the too numerous to count front desk girls. Despite the rocky start, there was a turning point and it started when Tara took the reins in the management office. Granted, we have not had many personal issues that has brought us to her office. However, all around the complex, we've seen changes...positive changes. Changes leading in an organized direction. Granted, there is still room to grow until this place is in excellent working order, but the strides made in such a short time, a truly difficult time, are very much appreciated. We look forward on continuing to work with Tara, in hopes that she will truly be able to turn this place around. Our biggest fear is that all this negativity presented here and thrown at here everyday, will drive her away and put this place back beyond square one. So, to her, we say hang in there and to you, we say give Brightwaters a chance...

I must disagree with you. Yes, Tara has done much better than anyone else we have had here over the last year. So cheers for her abilities. However, there is only so much one person can do and thus it really makes for an uncomfortable place to be. We have garbage all over the place, with only the one trash bin, we lost our play area for the kids, which they promised to rebuild and still have not, and we have severe drainage issues so that no one can walk in the grass without getting ankle deep in mud. Hopefully things will turn around for future residents, and as you said, they have been. But when my lease is up in a few months, I am out of here. I pay $1000 a month between the place, the parking spot and the garage that is super far away from my apartment and I can easily get something much better for the same price. So again, Hooray for Tara! But the rest is just too much.

Ain't going to happen - nothing has changed here for several years except the names. This place is owned by several CA attorneys as well as Summerfield across the street and they are in worse shape than we are. It is all about money for a place that was built for low-income housing and not enough parking places. Why anyone would live here is beyond me and thank God I am gone...

Well, we thank god you're going because Brightwater has enough negative, condescending people who don't bother to get their facts straight and run their mouths off second hand information from neighbors or whoever it is you obtained your information from. Maybe, if you take the blinders off and open your obviously closed mind, you might see that stuff is changing and change is good. Otherwise, this place would still be filled with people like you who would rather gossip and spread rumors then find out what is really going on. Besides, despite this place originally being made for low-income, that doesn't limit it's growth potential. Especially, in the hands of a competent manager and as for it being about the money that is true, but the only way this place will make any money is by getting better and Tara and the owner see that. So, they are working to do that and find ways to satisfy the tenants, provided they are given the chance too, without being attacked, but by being approached in a manner that can make open lines of communication possible to resolve matters. Naturally, they can't solve everything because this place does have downfalls that are hard to rectify, at the moment, but that doesn't stop them from trying if a person is willing to work with them in a respectful and productive manner. I am not sitting here trying to say this place is perfect, but I am saying it is on the road to being a good place for people to live.

'cankim6' - Thank you for your incredible insight into the beyond! $700 a month for dinky one bedroom? And it appears that you have your facts wrong because I was on the frontline and it is all foo-foo and just wait until they send you a notice that the place is going condominiums - fact and not fiction and I sure am glad you are sticking it out and you voted for Obama, right??
