My experience was largely quite good; remember - you get what you give

Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2004
I lived at MSV from Sept. 1999 until Nov. 2004. I LOVED my large 1BR apartment with open layout and attached street-level garage. Lots of window coverage from which to observe abundant nature activity just feet from my living and dining areas - incl. beaver, raptors, nutria and raccoons. Yet ample privacy from thoughtfully planted/preserved foliage along Fanno Creek system.
Yes, there have been multiple managers and mgt companies at MSV over the past several years. But overall I have found each of them to be responsive, caring and fair. I also made a point to be a good tenant, because what goes around comes around. My experience bore out this axiom. When I moved out, Kim and Rich were generous in their compliments of how well I'd cleaned my unit. They were also extremely accommodating of my situation - getting on a plane the next morning for a conference in Montreal, then on to a new life, new job and new residence in Durham, NC. Once I arrived in Durham from Canada, it was only 2.5 weeks later that I received a check from MSV reimbursing me for my deposit. The check was for the full amount which I'd originally paid, minus only $20 or so to cover my final water bill, as had been explained to me in advance. This left me with an extremely favorable impression of the current MSV management staff.
MSV is right on busline 12, to downtown Portland where you can connect with Red Max to airport. It was a joy to roll my suitcase out my front door, walk through the property to Main Street, board the bus, switch to light rail at Pioneer Square, and then literally roll off right at passenger check-in at PDX - all for about $1.65 the last time I took this trip. The impressive new Tigard Public Library is also right nearby, as is King City with several good bargain shops.
The worst thing about MSV is the surprisingly poor quality of both the building materials and the construction. The developers, contractors and subs should all be ashamed of themselves. But of course, this has nothing to do with the property's management.
My 5 years of residence at MSV were a joy. I'd recommend anyone who is worthy of the experience to check out this oasis in the heart of Tigard.
