The WORST and WEIRDEST place I have ever lived!
As far as management goes, the closest thing I can compare it to is being treated like an inmate in an institution. I have never had so much paperwork left on my door anywhere I have ever lived--notices, letters, threats, warnings, demands. Management is on a power trip and they are a royal pain. They even drilled ugly metal clips into the door frames of all the units to facilitate their near-daily harassment of the tenants.
The managers have no idea how to be polite or professional, nor do they care. Notices left on your door are yelling, threatening, and with exclamation points. And that is even the 1st time they ever tell you about something.
They also have no idea what they can or cannot do under the law. Noteworthy experiences I had with them while living there included being threatened with a terminated contract, a previous rental agreement that had expired at the time they tried to enforce it and thus was inadmissible in court. On another occasion, they left a note on all the doors instructing the residents to spy on each other and their children and then report "rule breakers" to the office---sorry, I wasn t getting paid to manage the place.
In terms of physical comfort, the place was built by a builder in Southern California and is intended for the climate DOWN THERE. The paper thin walls and drafty construction are inadequate for living on the mouth of the Columbia Gorge. You freeze to death in the winter, especially when the East Wind blows. The bedrooms are the tiniest I have ever seen for an apartment. Only 2 people can live comfortably in a 3-bedroom. The place is also crawling with ants in the summer.
At the time we left, the place was really going downhill in terms of the occupants, with increasing welfare-looking types, beat-up clunkers in the parking lot and garbage and cigarette butts everywhere. The problem is the self-respecting tenants are leaving because management is so horrible and the only way they can stay occupied is by lowering the bar in terms of who they rent to.
Sadly, the owner does not care. If you don't like it, you can leave where he is concerned. But do yourself one better and don't come here in the first place. There are lots of nice places to live in Troutdale, but this isn't one of them.
UPDATE: We are so happy to be gone from there! We have been living in another complex now for several months and have not been bothered once by anybody about anything. Should have gotten out of there a long time ago!

This is spot on. I have written before, but as time has gone on, I've only seen things get more and more egregiously bad with management. The management has the opportunity to make a good impression on tenants guests or a bad impression. Every single time I've seen them, they choose to make a bad impression.
For instance, I can understand wanting to keep the riff-raff out of the pool area. But if tenants are bringing guests to the pool and there's no mischief going on, why can't they just swim? It's like free advertising for how "wonderful" the apartments are. But noooo... the management gestapo come out and harass tenants, requesting pool passes and just being either rude or blatantly fake nice. That's a lasting impression you dolts just gave to tenants and non-tenants alike. That word of mouth will spread on your nasty antics.
I could go on, but this post is long enough. I'll leave with this. If management reads this... get a new line of work. Find something where your power hungry, rude nature will be better appreciated. Prison sounds fitting.

Sounds like Adolph & Eva are still in charge. I don't know why the owner doesn't figure out to get rid of those two. I am just so thankful I don't have to put up with them anymore!
