I have been living at Forest Rim for almost 2 years and have not had the kind of problems described here, for the most part. I have NEVER even heard my neighbors at all and have never gotten any complaints that I am being too noisy (I'm on the top of 3 floors). I think the floor plans are really unique and they offer a lot of nice extras such as built-in shelving, fireplace, walk-in closets, the large, round "garden" bathtubs, washer/dryer in your unit and two balconies (for a 2-bdrm).
The management is nice, but pretty incompetent. The grounds are very well maintained and seem clean and safe to me (I'm a single female). Also, you can have LARGE DOGS here, which is great. Parking can be a hassle, I recommend you spring for a $20 covered space near your unit.
I, too, have seen lots of children playing in the parking lots and generally being VERY destructive to the apartment property. I'm surprised management has not talked to the parents about this - its the same group of kids all the time. There is a playground on site but these kids are more interested in destroying stuff than playing in the playground.
I've lived in lots of places and my experience with Forest Rim has been overall pretty good. This is by far the nicest, most luxurious apartment I've ever had and I've had very few real problems with Forest Rim, other than minor annoyances.
