Numerous reasons why NOT to live here
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 2/12/2009
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
We lived in these apartments for 3 years, and have watched the management and the neighbors decline in quality. Here are several other reasons why not to live here
1. MOLD
Reading other reviews and seeing first hand, the black mold around all of the windows is a major issue. I've scrubbed it off, just to find it growing back a week later. Its disgusting, not to mention majorly unhealthy.
2. NEIGHBORS
We have the NOISIEST neighbors ever. They were really young and extremely loud, often up until very early hours of the night, having around 10 different friends over daily, going up and down the stairs at least 20 times a night. Often I would over hear their conversations which included consistent vulgar language, graphic sexual content, and many statements referring to hard drugs that they were either taking or had taken. When I brought this to the managers attention... THEY DID NOTHING!! They would also smoke on our shared porch space infront of our door, throwing cigarette butts everywhere, including flinging them on top of the roof. TALK ABOUT FIRE HAZARD!
Our other neighbors constantly let their dogs run around without leashes and often do not pick up after them... this isn't a major concern for me but some hate it.
3. Rent $$
Rent has gone up from 725 originally when we moved in to a wapping 915! It is ridiculous how much we have to pay for what we are getting.
Often we would get notices about not turning in our electric bill check, when we would always turn this in on time. At one point it got so bad, they sent us a letter threatening to evict us. Come to find out the reason they thought they hadn't received it was because the check was coming from my roommate (who's name is on the lease mind you) and not from the name they got the rent check from!
5. Gym
The gym is alright. It is nice to have around, but the equipment is pretty rundown. The worst part is, there are always young teenagers in there who are either screaming, abusing equipment, or bothering others...
6. Parking
The parking is aweful... they do have a sort of overflow parking area toward the bottom of the hill, but it is so far away from most of the complexes, and at night it just feels unsafe. I have come home sometimes and have even had that lot filled. Once I had to park in the neighborhood a good mile away. Unless your willing to pay for a covered spot, you are always celebrating when you see open spots in the lot when you get home. Its a daily treat or nightmare.
BOTTOM LINE: DON'T LIVE HERE
