Im just so fed up with this place that if only I hadnt signed a contract, i would have left several months ago. Where Should i start. We we're referred by another couple friend of ours (they later apologized for ever refferring us to rolling hills) Everything was fine during our first visit. We saw a great apartment with a great price. But b/c we lived out of town my b/f was able to sign contract and put money down and I later came. BIG BIG MISTAKE! found out that the price they quoted was wrong, they wanted to charge us a whopping 70 more bucks for the same apartment we looked at! Not only that, but utilites we're no longer included (which they stated at our first walk in that they were included in rent). I was furious and refused to sign contract (that I had not even looked at yet) only to find out that on the contract it states that whether I sign or not, we forfit all deposits. (we paid the security and the $400 pet dep!) thats alot of money to lose. So we were screwed from the very beginning. So we decided to stick out the lease and hopefully things wouldnt proceed how they started. Then after we signed the contract and went to do our walkthrough. Everyone says that you should be REALLY picky. We were trying to be. But we didnt get to write down anything. The lady with us wrote it all down, and when we pointed things out to her she said "oh dont worry about that, the last tenants did that" as if we cared. We just wanted it noted. Well she didnt take note of ANYTHING we told her about. I just hope we dont get screwed in the end over this. I've been keeping a list for myself of things we start to notice so I can warn future tenants (hopefully not at rolling hills).
First thing I discovered after living here for a month was the mold. Understandibly in the window seals. But I didnt understand how come we were seeing it in the bedroom corners on the walls. Or on the rim all the way around the bathtub. Or even the toilet for that matter (I dont think they've changed the water for the toilet back since they opened this place).
Over all I feel pretty safe at these apartments. But what i dont like is that there is no parking. The managment try to claim that there is one visitor parking for each apartment complex. YEAH RIGHT! not even half that! My b/f constinently has to park up the street at another apartment complex jsut so he doesnt get towed. you see, rolling hills is right next to a small office for meridian hospital. Meridian has TONS of parking & they dont even used a quarter of it. So alot of tenants seem to think its okay to park in meridian parking spots. Well dont, because several of us have been towed b/c of it. At all times of the night. I've even had a tow sticker put on my car by the managment b/c they claimed they couldnt see my parking sticker. Thats ridiculous. My sticker was on the front windshield where they state to put it in the first place. If I have family or and borrowing a car b/c mines in the shop, i want to feel safe that neither would be towed in my assigned parking unless I CALLED to have it towed.I've had my brand new snow tires slashed in the middle of the night, kinda funny how NO ONE ELSES got slashed. I seem to think it was our rude upstairs neighbors who did it, but of course I have no proof. When I went to the management to complain about my tire, (b/c it was slashed on the side the tire could no be fixed), the managment didnt even seem apologetic. They just asked real fast, if I was going to file a police report. Never having this happen to me before, I stated no. Then later found out that if I had filed a complaint the management would have had to replace the tire. But of course they weren't going to tell me that now were they'!'!
The onsite 24hr maintenance, not to mention that all the management supposdely LIVES here in the complex, were no where to be found when the entire place lost power. It was us tenants that actually bonded together and called the proper authorities. Also, I am always getting strangers knocking on my door and when I answer, they look at me weird and then tell me that they though a hispanic family lived here, they were looking for hispanic families. Do i not feel discriminated against now'
When neighbors are loud you cannot tell which apartment complex its coming from unless a window or door is open. So expect to get several noise complaints whether it was ur apartment or not. We've recieved 2 eviction notices because the management lost our paperwork. So we had to storm in there, with our reciepts stating that we paid it only for them to blame it on US! And just this month, I got a bill stating that we did not pay our utility bill, which we had. Its just that the management had not paid it. (we pay them and they pay the utility company).
What else could I possibly warn you about' the dryers dont dry worth ----! you have run them through twice and cross your fingers that you dont have to dry them again. The children run loose in the complex without supervision so plenty of cars of gotten dents from rocks and scractches from the kids bikes b/c no one seems to care. And the worst part of it is.... my upstairs neighbors are so rude and they've not only poured piss & ---- on my porch once, but TWICE! and the managment only sited them complaints. Thats a health issue, they should be evicted for that disgusting stuff!
Well, I hope you found my complaints helpful. The bad totally over takes the good, so I really dont have anything good to say about rollling hills. Just stay away from this place. Its not worth the bargain price. luckily for me, i got to experience it and now get to warn you all about it, and in 3 months, I wont have to worry about it any longer. good luck & happy hunting!
