I got my first Studio Flat here, mainly forced to because it's the only studio that I could find in Tualatin that was within walking distance to my job and affordable.
My first impression was in Awe because of the treelined street 'SW Mohawk St.' The managers are very nice and helpful.
I only had one problem when I stepped into my soon-to-be-place. The carpets smelled like mold. They "Oder Bombed" it but it still did not take care of the problem. Since my parents grew up in the Carpet Industry they new that the padding had mold. The aparments refused to change the stained and moldy smelling carpet, but since I needed the place, I settled. Though they can't complain to me about any moldy smell after I move out.
Since living here I've had no problems, a few noisey neighbors but you'll always have some of those. I do know my next door neighbor and we help eachother out.
Location Location Location. It's the reason I moved in here. Walking Distance to: Pizza Hut, Subway, Fred Meyer, Plaid Pantry, McDonalds, Tualatin Library, Big K (K-mart), Several Banks, A few bars/pubs and family resturants, Pet Co, Staples, Haggens, and -Three- Starbucks (One in Haggens and 100 yards from Haggens and one in Fred Meyer.) Bridgeport is a good 45 mins walk (with a slow pace maybe 80 mins) 10-15 min drive. They have an Apple Computer store, Borders, and Bridgeport 18 Movieplex.
One outragous fee is the pet fee $400 per pet. That's extreme to me.
I feel slightly unsafe at night, people walk behind my apartment building and its abit unnerving.
Todd Village is a -Large Community- and sometimes is feels like there's too many people but I don't see a whole lot of them. (I use to live in a smaller, tighter, apartment community and it felt more comfortable.)
Tips:
First inspection- Note everything!!!! Stains, Scratches, Holes, Mold, -Smells-, anything out of place or looks like it'll break soon (Tell them you'd like it fixed A.S.A.P,) Be sure you get a copy for your records. Be investigative, precise, and straightforward.
Prices I pay for a Studio:
Water/Sewage/Garage: $25 - 30
Electric: $25 - 30
Rent: $455 - 465 (Recently raised depends on what size Studio you get.)
-7 month lease-
Thank you and I hope you have a pleasant visit.
Remember to always keep your eyes open with a pen and paper to jot down the Pros and Cons you see.
