Used to be nice but...

This was a nice place when we moved in. The grounds were well kept. The location next to the elementary school was very convenient. And best of all it's was a safe place to raise children. The kind of place where you can leave your doors unlocked without worry.
But then one day there was a burglary. We started noticing that the police were spending a lot of time here, when we never used to see them at all. More burglaries occured, a few cars were stolen, and several car's have been broken into. We didn't know what was going on.
We got a call one day from the office that if we renew our lease, TODAY, (and it wasn't up for another 4 months), we could get a good deal. Being bother by the rush of crime we went to the office to discuss why we should renew our lease. The next morning we woke up with a notice on our door saying that 3 people were arrested for posession of drug paraphanilia. What kind of paraphanilia we asked, but that wouldn't say. People don't go to jail for having a bong in the living room. So that's why they wanted to renew our lease yesterday, before we saw the notice.
We finally got them to admit that the place has gone section 8. People are moving in with no income at all. Well, unless you condisering pawning my car stereo income.
The garbage dumping service has always been inadequate. They say the garbage is piling up because people have their children, who can't reach high enough to throw the bags in the dumpster, are leaving the bags next to it. But the dumpsters are overflowing 3 or 4 days before they are dumped, every week. Oh, and they don't do such a great job of maintaining the grounds anymore.
They made me pay $50 for access card to get into the fitness center. In the last 2 months I've gone in there and found people sleeping, or hiding in the bathrooms, on 3 occassions. The door to get in doesn't even close. I paid $50 for a card that just sits in my purse. And they told my part of the cost goes to maintaining the security expenses, for my safety.
Parking is a pain. You'll get towed if you park in a numbered spot that isn't yours, but the paint marking the spots is all faded. They say if you have 2 cars you should rent a garage, but a slightly wider than average car, like a minivan, won't even fit in the garages. I guess having you car towed is better than having it stolen.
The office staff are friendly but they have a real ploblem with the truth, and they act irritated if you want to pick up a package.
