Decent for the price, design issues

After living here several months, and experiencing my own share of problems (mostly with one particular neighbor), I decided to investigate what others that had lived here before me reported. I decided to write my own updated review for the interests of fairness.
Ultimately, it's not a bad place. There seems to be a bit of of negative memories surrounding drug activity in these reviews, but I haven't noticed anything. Just like any other apartment, there may be the occasional wafting in of smoke of any kind when your windows are open. There were some maintenance issues when I arrived, but nothing major--just normal wear and tear from a not-exactly-brand-new structure. The place longs for updates, but it's definitely a park-like setting, I love the close proximity to the park across the highway, the ease of access to both work and play, but shopping is mildly painful as the grocery store a block away tends to sell at convenience store prices...but it sure is convenient!
Back to the neighbor problems: It's the noise. The buildings are constructed quite intriguingly, but your neighbor's living room and kitchen is a paper-thin wall away from your bedrooms in the 2nd-3rd floor townhouse. If you live on a first-floor flat, your bedrooms are below your neighbor's kitchen and living room. The apartments are totally spacious and cute, but completely retarded when design is considered.
The manager and owner are cool. I've met them on a few occasions, found L&M personable and realistic, as far as I can tell they really do make an effort to make sure things are taken care of. The landscaping is maintained where appropriate, they've taken an interest in my maintenance needs. One thing I don't understand is the $12.00/mo West Linn Community Fee, I'm working with the public works department to determine how that excise is determined.
I moved here because it was the right fit at the right time, but I probably won't stay...unless my inconsiderate noisy neighbors decide to move first. Otherwise, I'm completely happy here. P0MtU6TIdDkM23RTonAS
