We got lucky - it seems that top-floor apartments tend to be the quietest, and we have a nice view of the trees from our little balcony. We like our cozy little apartment - it has a fireplace, dishwasher, and washer/dryer combo. The location is great, and there will be a brand-new park within walking distance any day now.

The complex itself has a host of drawbacks, however. A neighbor of ours lived on the second floor with dogs above her - it sounded like thunder when they started playing. Our immediate neighbors have been very quiet - almost silent - but I honestly don't attribute this to any degree of soundproofing - just consciencious neighbors.

Parking can be troublesome at times with two cars - you may end up parking on the street. The management leaves you alone for the most part unless you're particularly obnoxious, howe ver it seems that the maintinence staff play by the same rules. Another neighbor went over a month with a broken stove during the holidays.

Overall, this particular unit has worked well for us over the past two years or so - but we're pretty easy-going for the most part.
