This apartment complex was recommended to me by an ex-tenant who lived here about 6 years ago. I'm sure this was the place to live back then. Now it is in desperate need of an overhaul. The Cons of living here: Cats running loose and jumping on cars, frequent minor maintenance issues (broken light switches, loose outlets, outlets not working, closet doors off the tracks, etc.), second bedroom is very small and the water heater takes up half the closet, carpeted landings smell like cat pee, residents don't clean up after their dog, pet pots aren't stocked with bags most of the time, appliances are old (but functional), mold grows too easily in the bathrooms especially the shower and toilets, cabinets are cheap, the carports and decks are in major need of a power washing, moss killer needs to be applied to the sidewalks and buildings, guest parking is inadequate, and the only trash compactor is only convenient for the people living close to it. The Pros of living here: QUIET (sometimes too quiet), covered parking, my unit is well-insulated resulting in low heat bills in the winter, spacious apartment, nice neighbors, french doors, huge deck, timely maintenance, fair management, lovely courtyard, nice weight rooms, pool, sauna, clubhouse, hardly any children live here which is a HUGE plus. Overall a nice place to live but a bit pricey for what you get.

I agree with what you said, and can only worry about the future. I currently have some kids living above me, who wake us up at all hours of the night, sometimes it sounds like they're dropping 150lb barbells on the floor. It just isn't the same without Beth and John (ex-manager and groundskeeper) around. Beth seemed to care more about the tenants than the current management does. The new management just seems... more business oriented, less tenant happiness oriented.
