Nice staff, quiet place to live

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2003
I've lived in a one-bedroom here for almost four years and although there are some minor issues, it's not bad for $625/month. I've had a small rent hike every year -- I started renting at $565/month. My kitchen was completely renovated before I moved in and it has a washer & dryer and dishwasher, plus a cut-out window that looks out onto the living room. About half of the apartments have these upgrades, and these units cost about $30 more a month than the non-renovated units. Not bad for the convenience! The living rooms in the 1 bedrooms are kind of small, and the dining rooms are impossibly small, but the bedrooms are huge. The 2-bedrooms are more spacious.
There is an outdoor pool with a lifeguard on duty from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but they are really stringent about bringing more than two guests. That means the pool is never too crowded, but it's a pain to have friends over. Also, the pool is closed when the lifeguard isn't there (eg calls in sick, no replacement available) which is annoying on a hot day.
I've always felt safe here although there have been a couple of break ins, mostly on the first floor. My unit is on the first floor but I make sure to keep my windows locked when I'm away. The air conditioning and heating work well.
The maintenance staff is nice and very responsive. They have fixed any problem I've had, sometimes in the middle of the night. Some live in the apartment complex so there is always someone on call.
The downside: I periodically have a roach, ant or mouse problem. An exterminator comes every Tuesday if you make an appointment. But the buggers never completely go away, they just hide out for a few months.
The residents are a big mix: young couples, young families with a lot of children, elderly, some singles. Not much of a social scene. There's a lot of turnover.
Tons of parking near my unit. This may differ between buildings. You may have to park across the street in some cases.
