If you think the reviews about roaches, theft, poor maintenance, etc, are bogus you need to think again. They are 100% true because after living in this hell hole for two years, I could smack myself for staying. I hate moving so I stayed for a second year but the place only gets worse and worse. When my lease comes up in three months, I'm out of here. Do NOT trust a thing anyone says that works here, not even the door people. They defend the scum that works in this building yet are happy to gossip and tell you who is doing what and what's been going on.

The rent' Overpriced and goes up every year.
The maintenance' Useless, slow, ignores your notes.
The supervisor' Nowhere to be found when you need him.
The supervisor's "assistant"' Totally useless, spends time screwing around in the building.
The door people' Almost useless, spends time gossiping or getting neck massages.
The building' Run down, even with the "upgrades", problems with mice and roaches and stink bugs and such (and YES, I clean a LOT! I don't have a messy apartment!!)

It looks nice upon first glace, but once you move in you'll quickly learn and forget about getting out of your lease. I talked to another tenant a few weeks ago who said he's trying due to the problems but hasn't had any luck.

My God,I had to respond to this review-my thoughts EXACTLY. I am leaving soon and I too could kick myself for staying here for over a year. The bugs-one time(at 9:30 at night) I went to the trash chute and upon opening the door saw (a conservative estimate)about 25 roaches scrambling around. The exterminator is a joke-he looks half asleep and just nonchalantly drips the stuff like a damn Jackson Pollack;doesn't even take the time to really get in there in the cracks and does NOT do a careful job. I've had to take up my poor cat's food at night because I literally found 5 roaches in her food on several occasions. The roaches do tend to hibernate during the winter months thank God so there is a repreive. I hear my neighbors all the time-I'll be sitting there reading,watching tv then BOOM! THUD! BANG! God only knows what people do-but it's probably not the people's fault it's this old ridiculous building with no real sound insulation. Brings me to my next point-the old windows. They whistle incesantly when the wind blows strong and no lie-one cold morning the wind was coming into my apartment-I could not get warm-had to drag my space heater out of the closet-the cat and I huddled by it-yes it was that cold. Snow plowing and removal-HA what a joke. There are always mini-hills on either side of your car making it treacherous to get into and out of your car. Also-there is no salt or any attempt to make the parking lot in general a safe nonslippery place. I knew an elderly gentleman who fell recently. Oh yeah and last but not least-the general appearance of the place-except for the recently redone lobby-the place looks drab and dirty. The exercise room is just plain filthy,the laundry center not much better. Now that they have covered the pipes in the hallways-the color scheme is off -the bright white color of the boxes don't match the wallpaper and at least on my floor makes the walls in the hallway look yellow;like somebody has been smoking for years there. Oh yeah,did I mention you can smell your neighbor's cigarette smoke through the bathroom vents-yes. Well,I am glad I had a chance to vent but it is also my fervent hope that people read these reviews and DON'T RENT HERE!
