I lived in Long Island and went to school in York, PA. The complex is in the middle of the city, in the ghetto. When you come to visit through the main entrance you travel through the good part of town, but once you go through the back entranc it is very shady. Traffic is terrible, there is a halfway house 3 blocks from the complex and a jail in the middle of the city as well. If your in your mid twenties like me there is nothing to do. The bar/club scene in the town is terrible since there is only 2 bars that are popular and one of them is not very friendly. After your second year the complex tries to increase your rate anyway from 50-100 a month. If you do live here make sure to give them 3 MONTHS NOTICE IN WRITING that you want to move out before your lease ends or they automatically renew it. The complex is also not very friendly. I have lived here for 5 months and everyone keeps to themselves here. The maintenance staff is allright if you have a major problem and will fix it immediatly, but if you inform them of something like your screens need to replace or your windows dont open/close it will take you pesting them constantly to get it done. The dryers are also terrible since it usually takes 2-3 FULL cycles to dry your clothes. Also if you live on the first floor, you will hear everything going on in the complex, also whenever there is ground work done from mowing grass, raking leaves, etc. all the the waste will go on your "balcony" and you will be stuck cleaning it, which is a constant hassle. Just remember the area is very dangerous behind the complex, you are also forced to get cable tv, because there is only a few apartments capable of satellite tv and they are always filled.
