DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!

Currently live in South Mountain 2415 Apt.102. Moved in Dec. '03 lease expires 6/04
March 10th 2004...
I had previously rented at another DePaul property (Quakertown West Apts. in Quakertown, PA.) and needed to move a little north. I found South Mountain and the outside appearence looked the same as Q-west and since I had a really good expieriance there (and with DePaul) I decided to sign a lease for South Mountain.....worst thing I ever did.
First of all I am typing this with a hole about 1'x1' in my bathroom ceiling and rotten cabinets in the kitchen while listening to some extremely loud Gangster rap coming from my neighbors apartment.
Maintenence/Upkeep:
Within one week of moving in I realized I had made a major mistake. We got about a foot of snow...and no one ever cleared the parking lot or walkway into the building. The snow turned into a 5 inch layer of ice covering the entranceway to our buliding and stayed there for most of the winter. The problem with this is that I don't own ice skates so I was forced to risk breaking my neck everytime I entered or exited the building. Then the ceiling in our bathroom started leaking so we called and a man came to the Apt and cut the 1'x1' hole in the ceiling and fixed the pipe, then left. He has not come back to fix the hole.....this was 6 weeks ago (yes we called back requesting the hole be fixed...still no help). When I moved in I found that the cabinets in the kitchen were rotted out and rather gross.
Music:
ALL DAY EVERY DAY all I hear is "BOOM BOOM BOOM...*various random curse words in rap song*...BOOM BOOM BOOM". No one here cares, not the police and apparently not management. I go to sleep at night with earplugs in my ears and I can still hear it...I am most nights woken up anywhere between 1-4 AM by either rap from upstairs or Rock music from next door. Like another reviewer stated, this complex is about half filled with students whose rent is paid for by student grants or loans.
I am shocked that a management company could have such a great complex in one town and such a horrendous one 12 miles away.
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE....I am counting the days till my lease expires.
If you have any questions about this complex feel free to e-mail me at tysondean@verizon.net
