Not luxury, but certainly worth it.

As a former tenant of this apartment complex I felt like some balance needed to be added to these reviews. I find most of the things said in the negative reviews on this site to be bogus. In my year of living at Presidential Arms, I found the grounds and apartments to be entirely adequate. Not recently updated, but well within modern, and working order. The kitchens are small, but the overall foot print for a two bedroom apartment is right around 1000 sq feet, not too many apartments in the area, let alone luxury condos downtown can match that amount of space, especially for the money. Yes there was occasional inconvenience due to the lack of life guards at the pool, but the pool at north park is within walking distance! Yes there were occasionally no washing machines to use because the neighbors left their laundry in the machines, that is living in a multi-family building, put that into perspective. As far as safety, yes the doors to the common hallways are unlocked, but look at the neighborhood! You are in the suburbs in a relatively affluent area, within walking distance of north park. At some point in the later half of my lease I bought a house, and explored the option of breaking my lease. The management was very fair, and helpful in helping me to know all of my options. It turned out it was cheaper at that point to pay rent until the end of the lease, that was a contractual agreement...no big deal, a signature at the bottom of the lease means you are obligated by law to the terms. Last point, maintenance was always available, prompt, and fixed the problem within a day of a complaint (our only problems were a broken stove burner and a broken a/c switch).

In summary, no this is not Club Med, but for the area, and the money 600 - 900 dollars a month (approx.) you would be hard pressed to find a better combination of location, amenities, safety, and value.
