Suburban Court is an old building, built circa 1920, and has a lot of character. The walls are very thick concrete and plaster so you don't really have to worry about hearing the neighbors and vise versa. The apartments aren't the biggest that you'll see but they are interesting and were recently remodeled. It is uncommon to find central air conditioning in an old building such as this so that was a definite plus.

The apartment is in very good shape and any maintenance requests have always been handled within a few hours. There are 2 on-site maintenance staff members who actually live in the building. The windows are fairly new and seem to be energy efficient and sturdy. The appliances in the kitchen were also less than a few years old and have held up very well. The bathroom is comically small but gets the job done. The huge bath tub comes in handy for relaxing.

The location of this complex is key. Walking distance from the Suburban Square Mall, Brownies 23 East, Several resturants, pizza places, four bars, and a post office. The police station is also ony a few blocks away which is a good and a bad thing; good for crime prevention, but watch your speed and stop fully at the stop signs (trust me.)

The parking situation is not ideal but if you are willing to park a block away, you'll always have a spot somewhere. Too much of the parking is metered, "municipal lot" (read: pay an exorbitant amount for a permit to park on the street), or 2 hour parking that is not always clearly marked. Having said that, I have never once in 3 years had to park more than a block away. The rent is also a bit much for what you get I suppose but you know what they say; location, location, location.

Overall I would highly reccomend Suburban Court. It was my first apartment out of college and it has been nothing but a positive experience. The management company (MMC)is on top of every detail of this place (i.e; the landscaping work done every single week) and I've never had any problem with neighbors.
