Avoid. Management is Horrible!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 6/19/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
Moved in in august of 2007, with management stating "you have brand new floors".
HARDLY!
The living area floors were in bad shape, with holes and cracks in them, and really squeaky when you walk on them.
The area was quiet, That is one of the very few positives.
The management is very two-faced and nasty. For example: When moving out, we asked if theres a place we can park a car and leave it for around 4 hours. The snotty, two-faced woman said "I don't know what to tell you". Fortunately, we found another tenant of the complex, and she informed us that there is only a public parking lot TWO BLOCKS DOWN FROM OUR COMPLEX ON THE EXACT SAME STREET!!! With long-term meters
nonetheless, where you can pay to park up to 12 hours. I was living there the entire time without a car, so I believe its understandable that I wouldn't know where parking is, but I think that manager is just a nasty woman and intentionally didn't want us to know there was parking nearby. She drives a car to the
office everyday, and should know these things.
The parking at the complex is horrible. It is all on-street and you are often hard-pressed to find a place.
Management in general is a joke. From January 2008 - May 2008, each month, when sending us a letter to remind us our upcoming rent is due, the letters always began with "We are currently in the process of building a new recreational facility". Talk about lies. There is absolutely no development being done. I went downstairs at least once a month to see this "new rec room", and each month, it was the exact same
thing, bare floors, pieces of drywall, and other miscellaneous tools, all sitting there, untouched. In the exact same places they were the month before, with absolutely no changes made to the room.
While I was there, maintenance did replace the locks on the front and back main entrances of the building, and as I was moving out, was replacing the sidewalk leading up to the main entrance. At least they are putting SOME money into the place.
Quite frankly, the place wasn't worth $400 a month, MUCH LESS THE $850 A MONTH I PAID.
It's not even worth 100 Mexican Pecos.
The icing on the cake as far as management goes, came the very day I moved out. Apparently, The local law there is that you cannot dump certain items at the dumpster, including mattresses, and couches. This is not the law everywhere, and I did not realize that such was the case there. I tried to ask the manager, and maintenance person, where we might possibly be able to dump the items, such as a local junkyard, etc. They refused to provide any information, and instead chose to act childish. They got up in our faces and threatened to call the police on us. While we were loading the items onto the moving truck, the maintenance man attempted to climb up into the truck WITHOUT first getting our permission (a legal offense in some states).
While I was bringing the mattress from the dumpster to the truck, I firmly asked the manager to get out of my way. She then immediately concocted a story, claiming that I "hit her with the mattress", and stating, "you're going to pay for this". I was laughing, thinking, "what crime have I committed'".
They were both nasty and rude and their handling of the situation was completely unacceptable.
The manager was in the right, about the law, but that doesn't mean she has to act that way.
Avoid this place at all costs.
