Some ups and downs, but generally a very nice place

First the facts: I moved to Suburban Court in May 2006 and lived there for a year without any significant problems, except for the occasional fire alarm going off in the middle of the night. Then I had to leave for a year, after I had already renewed my lease, but I was able to find another tenant. Since I knew the person, I thought I could leave a quantity of things of mine in the apartment, especially books and clothes, with the idea of retrieving them on my return (I had already planned to come back to SC, since I don't own a car and the location is just perfect). I even paid the rent in advance for the period between my departure and the arrival of the new tenant, so that the place could not be considered abandoned. However, when I came back last August, the new person told me that, when she arrived in the summer of 2007, all she found was the desk and a few odds and ends; everything else had disappeared.
I don't know who is to blame for this, but I can say who is certainly not, that is, the new manager. Since my return, Janie has done everything in her power - and even something more - to make me feel home. She is always cheerful, reliable and very concerned about the well-being of the residents. From the older reviews, I understand that quality of life at SC reached a very low point while I was away, but right now is a very nice place to live, and I truly recommend it.
