The Avalon Arms apartment building is wonderful if you want to be around older people and live in peace. We were clearly the youngest couple in the building. While living there we had a baby and the experience with the other residents was wonderful. They loved having the baby around and were so concerned when the baby had health issues. The community is wonderful and the location is very convenient for public transportation and other necessities.

The only drawbacks are the laundry situation and the terms for lease breakage. You only have 1 day to do coin operated laundry, unless there is free time where no one has signed up. This probably ok for most, but with a newborn, it was difficult.

Also, beware of the terms needed to break the lease. The standard is 6 months, which is over the top. You can add a moving clause which will reduce it to 3 months, but this, too is excessive. On top of it, there is a 1/2 rent charge to break the lease, so in essence - you pay 6.5 or 3.5 months of rent to just get out. Plus they require a 6 month decision on whether or not you will renew. Who can plan that far ahead'' This also applies if you die!! Crazy.

Anyway, all in all a great experience.
