Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004
I have lived in berkeley trace for almost a year now. I like the grounds they are always kept clean and neat. The noise level is not high at all, although there is some new construction going on behing my building but that is not the complexes fault. I have a 2nd floor apartment and although the walls and floor are not completely sound proof it is not unbearable noise. I believe the staff is very helpful both girls in the office have helped me everytime I had an issue. My complaints to matinence were always taken care of the day I called.
Now, the negatives of the apartments are. The windows need to be resealed in the apartments air comes through my windows and in the winter my heat is going crazy, so my electric bill is kind of high. I don't like the fact that we can have pets. Cats are allowed, but with some outrageous fee, no dogs at all. The kitchen cabinets are old (but sturdy) but the complex makes new renovations to the apartments each year this year was the bathrooms and I've been told that next year it's the kitchen floors. Other than that I'd say the apartment is very nice. And to all the people who have negative comments about the place. No matter where you live there are going to be rules and things you dislike about your place. That's why we rent apartments and don't own. If you want things to be perfect move out and buy a house that way you live by your own rules and the only person you can blame when things get out of hand is you. I can see if conditions are unbearable then of course complain all you want. But this is not the case at Berkeley Trace...just my opinion.
