Before I begin, I'd like to mention that I live in the Bucks Crossing apartments, located across from Bucks Meadows, on the other side of Knights Rd. I really have no idea what it's like over at Meadows, I'm just drawing from my experience here. I'm living in their "Junior" One-Bedroom, sometimes they call it a studio, even though it's not. It's the perfect size for a single person.
I moved in at the end of August 08. I'm a young, female student living alone. Moving day made me a little nervous, as my new neighbors were not afraid to hit on me repeatedly. Since then, however, it has mostly just been polite hellos. I'm pretty sure no one else in the building speaks English all that well, if at all. A lot of the men hang around by their cars when the weather's not that bad and they have no qualms about staring at me if I go out to my car. Uncomfortable, but never over the line. Everyone's usually polite and I hardly ever hear much unnecessary noise (that isn't to say there's NO noise, but it's simply not worth mentioning- I just understand that I'm living in an apartment setting and can't expect complete silence at all times). I had a dead battery a couple of weeks ago and the maintenance man (who speaks very good English and is incredibly nice and polite) came over when he saw I was having a problem. He immediately drove his truck over and found a mechanic that lives in the building to help me figure out my problem. We had my car jumped within 20 minutes. He didn't have to do that and it was really helpful.
More about the maintenance: a couple of weeks ago, a pipe apparently burst in the wall that my kitchen is on and was leaking into the apartment beneath me. I came home from school one day to find the man under the sink. It was a little unsettling that he was just in there without asking, but I understood the emergency. It was a bad leak. I went away for the weekend after moving all of my kitchen stuff and when I got back, it was like he had never been there. Everything was fixed, despite the extent of the work he had to put in.
When I originally moved in, my kitchen counters were all new, as well as the kitchen floor and the carpets throughout the apartment. Everything is in working condition, and I haven't had a problem other than that freak accident with the pipe in the wall.
I have yet to have a real problem with finding a parking spot. There's usually spots right by the door. The only problem I have with the lot is that it has no lighting whatsoever at night. There are lights right by the doors, but none by the cars. Sometimes I come home from a weekend visiting friends and I have to hurry to get my bags out of my car and inside at 2am.
Overall, I'm not experiencing the horrors I had been worried about after reading the other reviews on this page. I figure they've been making an effort to improve the quality of life here at Buck's Crossing, but it doesn't really matter. I'm happy, my apartment is warm when it's cold out, cold when it's warm out, and I'm comfortable. I would suggest it to others, especially if they speak Spanish and don't mind some ogling stares every once in a while. :)
