We moved into an apartment at Franklin Commons this summer, and expected it to be really nice. And it pretty much is. Its spacious, with a nice (i.e. large) kitchen, brand new carpets, and some nice touches. The maintenance staff has always been very speedy and extremely professional. The clubhouse is nice, as is the pool and tennis courts.

There are a few minor issues. The people in the office are kind of hit or miss... there are a few very helpful people in there, and at least one that must hate all her tenants... her life... the world...etc. The trash situation is pretty ridiculous, but a part of that is that some residents seem to be too lazy to actually put their garbage in the dumpster.

In the end, the only downside that really matters is the sound insulation. It's terrible. As in "are those people in my apartment or just the apartment above me'" terrible. As in "why pay for cable when I can listen to the neighbor's TV for free'" I'm not exaggerating. We can follow the conversation of our neighbors... and they aren't yelling. If you have neighbors who don't lead a quiet lifestyle, good luck getting any peace when you're at home. Also.... dogs are allowed. Which means your neighbor will probably leave a dog locked in a cage all day long (or most of the night, for that matter). It turns out dogs don't really like being trapped in a cage, and they'll do their best to let everyone within earshot know about it.

Its sad. This place has so much potential. Spacious apartments. Brand new clubhouse. Wonderful (at least in our experience) maintenance staff. Even with all that it falls so far from being a nice place to live.

I absolutely completely agree! I've been here for 5 weeks and as this person stated, the apartment is nice but the managemente office is hit or miss. As far as hearing the upstairs neighbors, right on the money! I can hear absolutely EVERYTHING (and I do mean everything) that is going on!

We've been here for 2 months, and have no noise issues with neighbors, must be lucky on that end. But maintenance, what maintenance, do they have that here? Would never know, and the peoople in the office are very unknowledgeable on every level. Shame, because the apts. themselves are nice.
