We moved here from a middleclass area in NJ, born and raised. When we came to HillBrook we asked if the area was safe and if there is a problem with crime. They assured us that they ran a clean, safe property.

From the first month we moved in we've had nothing but problems. The appliances are old and don't work. Wind comes right through the windows and AC units. The hallways smell horrible. The people that live here don't know how to park and put dents in your car doors because they park so close. Everyone fights over parking spaces, because no one wants their car in one of the low lit areas of the lot where it is likely to be vandalized or broken into.

There have been several hit and run's in the parking lot, dozens of break in's, but the management keeps everything hush, hush. And if you ask about any of the incidents, they'll lie right to your face and insist they have no problems here. Stolen cars are regularly abandonded in the lot. Theres always broken glass on the pavement from the last act of vandalism.

Our cars have been vandalized and broken into so many times that we have accumulated a small mountain of debt repairing them. The office just pays you lip service and it's clear they really don't care and are not concerned. They refuse to address the issue they have with a unsecure unsafe property.

They'll rent a security person to look for a arsonist, but they won't hire a full time permenant one to prevent vandals from destroying cars and property. All they care about is collecting rent. They don't care about their tenants. Characteristics of a SLUMLORD!

Maintenance is terrible, everything is a shabby repair job. The washers are always broken. The security doors are always broken or propted open. Trash is thrown everywhere accept the dumpsters. The parking lot is like a racetrack. The tenants would sooner run right into you rather than be polite and let you pull your car out of a parking space.

We have filed a complaint against them because they know who the tenant is that has been vandalizing our cars but will not tell us so that we can press charges to recoup some of the money we have had to put out repairing our cars.

Advise to the curious, stay as far away from this place as possible. It's a SLUM. We'd be safer living in public housing compared to hillbrook. The corruption starts at the regional level and trickles down, no one cares here.
