My girlfriend and I moved into an apartment a few weeks ago. When we arrived there were some issues with the apartment, it seemed like they forgot we were coming. We had issues with the dryer, screen door, and a leaky tub. I got a little frustrated, and when I talked with staff, they were polite. Maintainance came over and fixed most of our issues. We have a few other things left to be fixed, but they have been pretty good about getting things done. The maintainance guy Bob, is pretty nice. We were a little upset when the dryer exhaust had to be hooked a up a second time, but he came over when the day was over just to see how the apartment was doing. If you stay on their toes, things seemed to get fixed and they are pretty nice about things, just stay on their toes, and this goes for all apartments.
The apartment itself is amazing. Our balcony is huge. We have a 2 bedroom apartment. It doesnt feel like an apartment, its like our own little house. We never hear our neighbors, and the private entrance makes me feel extra safe. I have no issues with parking. The apartment is very private, and the people around are really cool. Everyone says hi, and they allow big dogs. I never hear them bark.
The washer and dryer are apartment sized, and you dont want to put a lot of clothes in them, but overall they are good, just do a few loads a week. It sure beats the laundromat, thats for sure.
Parking is adequate, and seems safe. There seems to be a lot of room so everyone can park. There are dumpsters located throughout the parking lot, so you never have to walk far with your garbage.
I love the environment. It seems as if people live here for awhile, its not just a stopping point but a home. People have their balconies decorated with plants and flags. Its very homey. There is adequate space around the place to play frizbee or throw the football around.
Like I said, I havent received my electric bill yet, and I am a little nervous, but all in all, i dont think there are many better places than this. It is pricey thats for sure, but you get what you pay for. I feel this is one step away from living in a condo, or your own home. If you can swing this, you can swing the others.
We looked at a number of apartments in the area. The only other ones we thought about renting were franklin commons, but then they caught on fire....
If you have the cash, dont bother looking at top of the hill apartments, hill brook plaza, hamilton court east..
So far I give 2 thumbs up...
