I've been living there for over a year, and I will lay out the positives and negatives of Longmeadow Living.
Positives
-Nice apartments overall

-Doesn't have huge deposit for pets
-Has a gym (I don't use it, but nice option)
-Management, Stacey, is nice, seems to care
-Ample parking
-Aesthetic environment
-It's easy to personalize your apartment outside
-Uses electricity, not gas
-Spacious patio or balcony
-Pool
-Washer and Dryer that work rather well
-PRIVATE entrance
Negatives
Maintenance is TERRIBLE
-The first time i came into contact with maintenance was my first day. He was drunk and was chewing Tobacco. He spit on my lawn. I don't think he works there anymore.
-His replacement isn't much better. He didn't even know where the fuse box in our apartment was located. There is a vacant apartment a few doors down and he leaves the door open for days at a time, along with the AC on, which is a waste of energy. I wouldn't want to be the new tenant who wakes up to animals his/her first night there. I wouldnt be surprised if a squatter lived in there.
-The lawn sometimes grows high, and vacant apartments are ungroomed.
-They sometimes have a trashcan by the mailboxes and sometimes they don't. When they dont people just throw their junkmail on the ground and it blows it all over the place. Just keep the trashcan there!
Kitchen is SO SO
-My oven looks like its from 1972, the burner is tilted and its hard for me to cook.
-The shelving is shoddy, as are the cabinets over all. They weren't cleaned when we moved in, (thanks for the power bars old tenants)and when you put a few cans on the higher tiers, it looks like they are about to break.
-Comes with a dishwasher which mine is an antique but it runs fine, and that's fine with me.
So why do I live here and will continue to live here'
Bensalem and the surrounding area is a mystery. Some parts are completely safe and some parts aren't. I looked at a lot of apartments during my search, and this seems the safest. I checked out Hillside apartments which I just read in the paper has had some gang activity lately. I also checked out Top of the Hill apartments which seems to have people breaking into their cars. Creekside is the pits along with Park Place apartments. The only other apartments we were considering were Franklin Commons. We decided not to move there after a fire there. Also, they screw you on gas. You don't go through a gas company, you go through them which screws you in the end. Korman is evil. They exploited a friend of mine. Korman splits up all electricity used in the entire apartment complex among its tenants. If you are on vacation for a whole month, you can still have an electricity bill of $300 because they count everyone's energy usage. They also have window units for AC which can be hard to control.
The rent is sort of high, but I'd pay it to know I am safe. I always have a parking spot. The private entrance gives me extra security. Overall the complex is safe, but sometimes the lights go out and they take awhile to fix em.
I would recommend this apartment complex to others, but with a disclaimer about maintenance.
