We have lived here for 3 horrific years. Thankfully, my husband got a great new job and we can finally afford to move out of this dump. In the interest of time and space, I will not detail every awful experience we've had since moving here. I am, however, providing details and pictures of the most recent offenses.

I look at the Longmeadow profile on apartments.com and find it laughable that they boast 24 hr. maintenance. It's almost impossible to get regular maintenance and when they finally show up, the work is sloppy and usually only a band aid slapped on a more serious problem.

Since before we moved here, our downstairs neighbor has had to deal with water leakage from our bathroom. For the past few months, it's gotten much worse. I explained to management many times that our bathtub is not properly sealed around the edges and some tiles and grouting are cracked. I have long expressed my belief that this is contributing to the leakage problem.

In fact, the grout was so poorly done that black mold grew into the cracks. I asked them to remove the molded area and replace it with fresh caulk. Instead, the maintenance guy just grouted right over it. You can see in the photos that it was a sloppy job. Grout was all over the tiles, both inside and outside the tub. Grout dried on the floor, wall, in our trash can, and on the toilet seat. I suspect that the mold may have been there before we moved in and handled in a similar way.

For the past few months, I have endured constant disturbances from maintenance because of their inability to find/ repair the leak. Often, I will take a shower and this prompts a complaint from the neighbor. I'll be rushing around for work and have to deal with a knock on the door at the most inopportune moments, usually while I'm in a night gown. This sort of prompt response never happens here but, since the Health Department is involved, they're trying to at least look like they're doing something.

Finally, they sent a professional out from Roto Rooter. He found and fixed a leaky pipe. Still there was some leakage. They came in and tore out a portion of our laundry room wall, scattering insulation all over the place. Then, they tore out a portion of the bathroom wall, near the tub and discovered that water is in fact leaking into the wall through the cracked grout around the tub.

So did he fix it' No! I was told that, since it was noon it was too late to caulk/grout because it takes 24 hours to set up. I believe that, in truth, he was just giving priority to a problem in another apartment as I heard him discussing it with the other handy man. We made an appointment for 10 am and no one showed up. As usual, no one in the office was available and I've been getting the answering service all day. 48 hours is too long to live with the mess in these pictures. Especially since it's spider season and the last thing I need is new ways for them to get in here.

Pictured is an area of ceiling, about 2 feet long, stained and cracked. This is from a leak in the roof. It's been patched up twice but never fully repaired.

In another picture, you can see a large water stain on the laundry room wall. This is from an incident last year with our water heater. It was breaking down constantly over a period of months. One night, it started spraying all over the wall. We called emergency maintenance. No one came out for 2 days. After 3 days, they finally replaced it.

We've had chronic problems with our air conditioner. A few weeks ago, I called four days in a row and still no one came to look at it. Last year, a heating/cooling specialist repaired it hesitantly and would not guarantee the work. He told us that it's about 35 years old and needs to be replaced. Our electric bills are insane in the summer because of this thing. The worst one was almost $600 for a 1000 sq. ft. unit. Right now, it works on and off but could go any day. I just hope it holds out until we leave. Just this morning it was banging like tennis shoes in a dryer.

There are just no words to adequately express how miserable living here has been. Things started out badly and just continue to get worse. You will get nothing here but aggravation.

Just an FYI there is site that you can use that explains the township codes. This is the link: http://www.municode.com/resources/gateway.asp?pid=13184&sid=38 I am diligently looking into how to file a complaint. We also currently have two seperate leaks. One in our bathroom due to leaking pipes upstairs and one in the closet with the heating.cooling unit from the roof leaking upstairs and traveling down through the walls to our apartment.

My fiance and I are moving out of here as well. We have only been here for about 7 months, and it's been nothing but stressfull. Our sink has broken twice, our bath tub faucet has leaked twice, and it takes them FOREVER to come out and fix it...that is if you can get a hold of them. The last time we called we got the voicemail...a few days later we confronted her and she said she never got the TWO messages that we left.
