I very much love my apartment. The only time I find myself wondering why I stay is when I have to deal with the management and maintenence - which thank heaven is not often.
My rent has increased every year since I moved in. Yet, there are no improvements in the buildings that warrant an increase *every* year for the past 5 years. When I first moved in the electricity allotment carried over every month so at the end of the year I never had to pay extra. Since Brandywine took over, I've had to pay extra during the winter months. In order to keep my electricity bill low, I have to keep the temperature in my living room and bedroom, at a very chilly 60 degrees while I'm at work. Otherwise, my electricity bill goes over the allotted amount.
If you are elderly, the snow removal/salting is non-existant so this place is probably not good for you. Yes, they do plow, however there is no salting - EVER - on the parking lot. They leave buckets of salt at the door and if you want anything salted, you must do it yourself.
Sometimes I feel they should be paying me to live there since I feel I keep up their property better then they do.
Neighbors are wonderful. I haven't had a problem. Very friendly.
They have 2 washers and 2 dryers on each floor that take $1.25 in quarters. Yet, they do not have a quarter machine in any building. Don't understand why.
The apartments are huge - great closet and storage space. The kitchen is a nice size and cabinet space is pretty good. Huge walk-in closets in the bedroom. Nice wide window sills to display plants, pictures, etc.
