I don't really know where to begin. I moved into this property in 2002 and was mainly attracted by the large bedrooms and open and upgraded kitchen. The frills really stop there.
The building is concrete and old which has it's good and bad parts to it. I'll get to the good in a minute. The bad parts are that you will know your neighbors VERY well. There are arguments in various languages, slammed doors... I could go on but let me sum up by saying that when you allow section 8 people in, they are bound to be a lower class of people. Now the good about the building being concrete and old is when there's a fire. Which, in, my 6 years there there have been 3 fires, in the same building. That's an average of 1 fire every 2 years, IN THE SAME BUILDING. Lest we overlook the fact that the last fire was caused by an unemployed 45yr old crack addict who caught his apartment on fire and ultimately fled the building with out warning or helping 98% percent of the residents in that building. This makes a great story when covered by the news/media for the kids.
As for the regular day-to-day living; expect bugs of all varieties: roaches, water bugs, ants, etc and let's not forget the mice. All kinds of nice little friends for the kids to play with. And play they will because the management sees this as not being a problem. They will come out and spray some over the counter crap that I could buy at Walmart. Basically the buildings need to be fumagated.
There is adequate parking, but be warned. During the summer there are lots of people wandering around yelling and what not at all hours of the night. You should never assume it's safe to leave your window open. Also, be warned about your car. My car window was shattered TWICE in the parking lot.
So, would I choose to move here again' No. I'd rather go through Marine boot camp, at least they have clean quarters.
