Salem Harbour Apartments

It sucks!!!!!!!! Do not come! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 5/17/2002 Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2002   I was outraged when I moved out of this place. I do not want to mention the terrible experience with the lease and maintenance anymore...It has all been stated by other posts. Technically, it is a sales office instead of management office. All it does is to trick you in and get the monthly payment from you, they manage nothing! Although I hate their service, my husband and I are both working full time and our attitude was sort of "Bear with it, we will get out of here any time, it's just a temporary place." The night before I left, I visited my neighbors downstairs to find out if other people have the same feelings to this place, we all have the same conclusion: 1)The place looks good from outside. 2)The building itself is falling apart. 3)The management is a shame to this place. Next are my big findings: 1) My neighbor on the first floor moved in at approximately the same time as we did three years ago. She is paying $30 for her cats, yet her rent is $20 less than mine, so I am paying $50 more than her. My neighbor on the second floor moved in 6 months ago, she is paying $10 less than us. We all have the same floor plan. The rent is supposed to be solely based on floor plan. Obviously, that is not the truth. My conclusion is that they looked at our big paycheck when we applied for this place and gave us different raise in rent every year, or, a different price list from the very beginning'! 2)They cheated us on floor plan all these years!!! We have a small den, but they charged us the money for a large den from day one. My neighbor on the second floor found out that they were cheating because she has a friend who lives in a large den. she called the office, they said it was a mistake and adjusted the rate. But they never called us, who live in the same building with exact floor plan, to correct the mistake. So, it is cheating instead of mistake! As people live in apartments do not communicate with each other often, they assume you will not find out so they can rip you off! We paid for the high rent here not only because we can afford it easily but also we expected better service. Well, we actually get worse service. THE WORST IS THAT PEOPLE IN MANAGEMENT OFFICE ARE REALLY A BUNCH OF LIARS!!! My neighbors told me that they both will leave as soon as the lease is due.(One of them usually need to send 3-5 certified mail to the management office to get any maintenance job done.) When we came here 3 years ago, I was happy that this place have a lot of vacancies to choose from. At that time I thought it was because of the high rent, now I know why. I will never refer my friend to his place unless I hate him. If you want a good life. Do not come here, PLEASE!
