not bad, but expensive

It really is luxury living, with all the perks of living near the water on what was probably once swampland. The golf course is nice when they keep it up. Most of the time the grass is too long for real play, and/or covered in geese / geese poop. Oh yeah did I mention there are geese everywhere all the time''' They are definitely a nuisance more than anything, but it doesn't help that some residents leave for out for them so they just come back for more. I do wish I had a boat so I could make use of the Marina, but I don't so I can't. Great place to have a boat, the dock area seems very nice.
In my apartment itself, I had a few maintenance issues and found the staff mostly helpful, and fairly prompt. If they were not going to be prompt, they would at least tell me as much, and when I might expect some service.
I found roaches 1-2 times per week, some small, some grossly huge. Never had a problem with mice. Other misc bugs as well, but that goes with living near water. Roaches were nasty though.
The mail system was terrible, too. My mail (which contained 1,001 circulars) would get stuffed into the box with no regard for contents. I had more than 1 netflix dvd broken due to this carelessness. Thankfully Netflix is forgiving in this department. My neighbor put a sign on her mailbox saying "No circulars No advertisements" but she would still get them. The whole mail situation angered me to no end. If I was gone long enough and it got to the point where the mail carrier couldn't cram any more mail into my box, it was left on the ground by the mailboxes. Thankfully my neighbors were kind enough to leave it there. Once in a blue moon, I would get a bundle of mail on my doorstep, but not often.
The pool is nice and they keep it up well, but more than I can say for the exercise room. It is dank and dark, and needs a lot more light / fresh air (stinky). But the (free) Yoga classes taught every Wednesday night were very nice and done in a separate room (taught by a resident).
Tennis courts were nice and fairly well kept, some people had their own brooms if they came the day after a lot of wind swept through, but they were generally clear (I lived right next to them so I saw them all the time.
The courtyards are nice and large enough to play lawn games.
They encourage people to build their own gardens, and they even have a yearly garden contest.
Overall, if you know you will enjoy the perks, then go for it, as you do get a lot for the rent. BUT! You will be far away from everything, and it takes a trip to go anywhere or do anything. You can walk to the train station (and the bar next door to it), but not much else, everything else is a drive. Prepare to feel isolated.
