Worst Experience of my Life

I lived at Thunder Hollow for a year with my fiancee and it was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had. First of all, we didnt move in till May but chose the place in February. When we moved in, NOTHING was done, we were missing half of our appliances (fridge, washer, dryer, stove, etc.). We were using the downstairs "den" as a bedroom for a friend (they were aware of this) and they informed us that they would place doors for us on either side to make it private. They didnt have it ready at ALL when we moved in and told us they would do it next week (this was a Friday), even though someone was using it as a bedroom! We had to put the doors on OURSELVES. Yup, they dropped the doors on our patio and told us to do it ourselves cause they werent willing to stay an extra 20 minutes in their day to do it. We also had to push our move-in date back to accomodate their schedule and then when we were finally able to move in, we had to work around the maintenance guys cause they STILL werent finished.

Then on top of all this, when we would get heavy rain, the water would fill up outside our windows and POUR into the inside. We would have waterfalls of water just spilling over our windowsills, right over outlets and everything. We would have to schedule our plans to go out around the weather so we could be home in case it happened!

Our upstairs shower also leaked into the kitchen so much that we had mold growing on our ceiling resulting in my fiancee and I getting sick MULTIPLE times in the course of a couple months.

We would call maintenance for an emergency (shower leaking, water pouring in through our windows) and they would either show up 4-5 hours later or not even at all! And dont even get me started on Stacey and her incompetence running the front office. "We will get out there today..." WEEKS pass with us calling multiple times to hear nothing from them or have the problem fixed. The front office is closed all the time for EVERY holiday you can possibly think of. We even court ordered withheld our rent one month just because of all these issues! Stupid us believed that everything was fixed since that got their asses moving, so we handed over the money.

The water bill' Be prepared to pay about $200 a month just for water since you apparently pay for the entire community. They take the whole water bill and divide it by the number of units. So you are paying for your neighbors water sometimes! The electric bill' About $300 a month no matter what time of year.

Unless you want to lose a LOT of money and deal with the most idiotic management on the planet, dont bother. Oh and one more quick thing, dont bother calling corporate to complain either - they are just as stupid and dont care about you or your problems.

I can not agree more!! I have been out for over a year now and they STILL TO THIS DAY CHARGE ME A WATER BILL EVERY SINGLE MONTH !! My water bill from them which I had paid outrageous prices per a MONTH ( the same price i pay for my 4 bedroom house now for 3 months) be prepared to still be charged water when you finally get out !! any chance you were in apartment 351?? those were the exact problems I had when I was there !!

The water in Longmeadow Apartments is free. I have long suspected that the Thunder Hollow tenants pay for both complexes, since they are related. It's the only thing that makes sense. I'm sure you pay for water that services the pools or lawn care (lol...as if they cared for the lawn). We moved out in June. Thank God our nightmare is over. I can relate to and vouch for everything you've said. One small f u to them, we left the biggest mess possible when we moved out. I've always left a property immaculate but for LongMeadow, I went out of my way to give them extra work. We didn't pay last months rent (we were never late once in 3 years) because we knew we wouldn't get the deposit back and didn't feel like fighting them for it. I hope you can get out of there soon.

We moved out of that living hell recently and it was the best move that we have ever made. We now live in a beautiful apartment and pay 300 less a month,(in the apt that we live in now, we called a day after we moved in the maintenance came out the same hour for bees. We have brand new appliances, windows, ceramic tile floors, brand new rugs and guess what they do not even charge for water. This place is fully renovated from top to bottom. It's quiet and we have our own parking. Best of all no dog crap to step over. We recently had to go back to Thunder Hell to clean up to make sure that the apt is up to par so that we can get our security deposit back. The sad part about it is no matter how much work you put in to the apartment it still looks like a dump. All I can say is God Bless whoever is locked in to their lease and who has to deal with that mess of apartment complex. Do yourselves a favor seek legal help and look around there are plenty of great apartments for less aggravation out there. I predict that Thunder Hollow will be a low income housing project in the next 2 yrs or so.
