I have lived here since 1995, and it used to
be a well-maintained, friendly place. When
new managment bought the place in Sept. 2002 it has ownly gone downhill. Westover Managment is impossbile to deal with, the maintance staff has a high turnover rate, and while a few guys seem to care, most are no help. The office on site is run by the most rude incompetent person I have ever met in real estate, and I have lived in several apts. in the area.
Our refrigerator broke down on a Saturday in May. The food rotted from inside, although it was running. It took 3 days to get a new (used and half-broken) refrigerator into our unit. Another week to get a brand new one. The company never apologized or paid for out lost food.
They have been painting and placing new balcony doors in the apts. and other cosmetic things to spruce the place up. Yet at the same time if you complain about a legitmate problem - a mail box lock that breaks, a broken elevator, they say, the place is falling apart, there is too much to do.
Well, guess what, that is not my problem!

Why did you buy this place if you did not want to fix things'

Some other drawbacks - a new fire alarm system was installed, which is good. However, when it goes off, and the fire dept. comes to investigate, they can't turn the ear splitting alarm off. Only maintenance can do that. So - trying to call Westover at their emergency number to get someone to come out could take a while.
Meanwhile, you are going deaf and crazy.
This happened last month.
Basially there isn't enough room for me to
explain why this isn't such a nice place to live anymore. Westover also added utilities to the rent. So far, my electric bill has
doubled almost every month. So a word to the wise - don't rent here.
