Poor customer service, high rent. Stay away if you can.

I know a lot of people end up here because it's one of the few apartment complexes that allows dogs in the Allentown-Bethlehem area. This might be why property management acts as if they're doing residents a favor by letting us live here. Customer service is very (very) poor & it's especially frustrating when you're paying $1385 a month in rent.
We've been here 4 months & are moving out next week. In the short time we've been here, we've had so many problems...the apartment wasn't properly cleaned after the previous tenant moved out (i.e., dog hair was painted onto the walls), my husband was locked out of the apartment by maintenance, maintenance entered the apartment while I was taking a shower, windows don't lock, blinds break, the knob fell off the dishwasher etc. etc. The staff rarely picks up the phone at the office & I've never received a return call when I've left messages.
To top it all off, they lost our deposit check. We told them the check hadn't cleared several times -- when we spoke to the property manager 3 months after we moved in & it still hadn't cleared, she told US (!) to call the Landings' bank to find out what happened to it.
The maintenance workers & leasing staff are friendly enough. There just seems to be a MAJOR problem with management here. We've been in contact with Home Properties regional management & they don't seem much better. Making residents happy is NOT a priority. (Case in point: a notice came around a few weeks ago letting residents know that the pool would be opening & what the hours of operation would be BUT they reserved the right not to open the pool at anytime.)
We'd strongly discourage anyone from living here.
