Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I have been staying at The Landings for the past two years and following is my feedback.
PROS:
1. The place is safe,never heard of breakins or any other issues.
2. The complex and apartment are well maintained,the rooms are spacious with upgraded kitchens/carpets,snow is ploughed as soon as possible,complex has a nice community center(with gym),park and swimming pool.
3. Grocery stores,Cinema theatre,Restaurants,Hospital,school,church& everything is closeby within a 2 mile radius.
4. Maintenance staff is very quick to respond and helpful.They have a 24hr helpline where the technicians will be called even at nights/weekends.I had 3 issues in past 2 yrs and everytime it was resolved within an hours time after the complaint was lodged.
5. Plenty of parking avaialable,no need to search for a spot
6. All the apartments are separately accessible.I mean its not like a typical apartment complex having passages where apartments doors face each other.Each apartment is like an individual home(even upstair apts) and your mail comes right into your door.
7. Washer and dryer inside the apartment
CONS
1. You cant turn up the centralised heat above 72 degrees. As the charge for the gas is shared by all and is a flat rate (around $80 for single bedroom,$110 for 2 bedroom) they put in a control for maximum temperature. I am always used to have the temperature around 75-76,so had to buy separate electric heater.
2. The apartments are expensive,for a two bedroom apartment you are looking at around $1100 rent plus $110 Gas and $100 electricity = $1300, One bedroom around $1100 total. And the rent will be up once a year.
3. The front entrance of the complex is located right next to a traffic signal and so you have to use rear entrances just to avoid traffic.
Overall, I recommend this apartment to anybody thinking to move in.
