Not bad but not great either.

So I've lived here for a year and it wasn't terrible but it wasn't bad either. Here are some of the pros and cons of this place:
PROS:
1. You only pay rent, electric bill, cable, internet, and phone. Gas, water, trash, and everything else is included in the rent. Electric bill was always under $100 even in the summer.
2. Fairly quiet. I've almost never heard a neighbor except you can hear the hallway noise if you are in the living room near the front door but it was minimal.
3. Maintenance was decent. I've only had a few maintenance problems and have been locked out a few times and they answer quickly and efficiently. However if you complain and call about every little problem, I'm sure there will be issues so suck it up or fix it yourself. I also had brand new carpet when I moved it which was nice.
4. Up to 2 cats are allowed with $250 deposit and $10 a month fee per cat. Not bad.
CONS:
1. High speed internet is a joke. If you want cable, forget it. You'll have high speed download but your upload is 56k dial-up because the wiring is old. Your only other choice is Verizon DSL which is terrible. I was maxed out at 1.5Mbps download and 256kbps upload and that's on a good day. It's too far from the DSL station to get a good connection for anything faster. It's 2009, let's get with the damn picture and upgrade the wiring. I can't recall how many hours I've wasted on the phone with Verizon trying to deal with these problems. So if you use the internet video streaming, gaming, or downloading, you're SOL. If you use it for just email and basic browsing you should be fine.
2. When I moved in they just repainted the interior however it looked like someone just threw white paint over everything. The doors stuck for weeks and paint chipped off everywhere. Now a few months later all the covered up cracks and holes and starting to appear and it looks terrible. The cabinets and appliances weren't very clean when I moved in either.
3. The laundry room is in the basement and there are only 2 washers ($1.25 a load) and 2 dryers ($1.00 a load) and they do a decent job but they were often broken or your clothes would always be damp by time the dryer was done.
4. The storage units in the basement are a joke. Anyone can just cut the locks off (happened to me) but luckily I had only empty boxes and my laundry detergents in there. You have to find your own light source because there are no lights in the storage rooms.
5. The bugs... Plenty of stink bugs, millipedes/centipedes, and little spiders. Never had any roaches or rodents however. My cat had a field day chasing the plentiful bugs.
6. The windows are drafty as hell. My bedroom was freezing in the morning while the rest of the apartment was warm during the winter because the windows were so drafty.
7. Traffic noise was rather annoying especially in the morning and during rush hour.
8. Bathrooms have no windows and after a few months of use mildew began to appear on ceiling. The water pressure is very high and there is plenty of hot water though.
These complaints were very picky but there aren't very many reviews for this place. I dealt with the problems and didn't mind living here. It was affordable and it met my needs. However, not for the extremely picky. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
