We lived in Valley Park for two year. After living in many other apartments during college, we found it was a nice apartment in a lovely location. The tenants are friendly, and the grounds are beautiful. However, the office staff is less than desirable. They are rude, their bookkeeping is deplorable, they give little or no notice for repairs or inspections, they change lease terms without notification, and they offer a lot of "I?m sorry" and very few results. Maintainence uses cheap materials to repair apartment items, resulting in constant need for them to fix things. They are unable to diagnose problems correctly, which for us resulted in our basement being filled with sewage runoff for two weeks in the summer of 2002. When we called with an infestation of roaches, they brought one roach trap and said that would take care of it. It didn't and we had to purchase bug bombs to slow down the roaches. There are only 4 maintainence staff for over 100 apartments, and they are often questionably skilled. While we enjoyed our actual apartment, we certainly found the staff both incompetent and unprofessional, and would not recommend these apartments to anyone for that reason.
