Maidencreek Apartments as phony as the name

Maidencreek Apartments is just about the most expensive way to get the unprofessionalism you expect out of a $350 effeciency apartment. Exterior is dirty, apartments have faults, and no one is around when help is needed. Constantly calling for repairs, although no one responds, even to emergency calls. When I speak to Jim, he acts as if there is some kind of communication problem between him and the maitenance staff. This is false, the handymen are constantly in Jim's office or going out to lunch and other such activities. Oh yeah, and the apartments stink....literally. We are located a couple miles from a mushroom factory and surrounded by farmlands. The smell, despite what Jim will tell you, is unbearable. Instead of "a hint of smell when the wind blows the right way," every morning, there is an unbearable stench that lingers with a thick, soupy feel in the morning. Apartments are somewhat uncleanly, and tenents are quite loud. There are limits to how much water and dumpster usage you have, and although you, as a tenant, have two parking spots, they are always taken by the other apartment buildings tenants, even though they have their own lots. There are no trees, and although the grass is cut, it is maintained only to a crisp, golden brownage with majestic spots of barren dirt. This apartment complex is where the whole village takes their dogs to deficate and urinate, and they neighborhood contains hundreds of kids and noisey, ankle-biting dogs. Just some other things: The toilets are energy savers, and clog at least one or twice a week. You cannot have any other internet connection other than Verizon or Service Electric (which requires you to buy cable). If you're a light sleeper, the trains constantly blowing their whistles will keep you up at night.
One other thing, MMG apartments are discriminatory against college students. They must pay double deposits just because they are furthering their education.
In conclusion, this apartment complex is run by a politician, not a manager. Also, the maintenance men are equally detestable, with their lack of service, and friendly smile. The neighborhood is acceptable, and the location is pretty good.
Good good points: apartments are close to gas station, supermarket, Kutztown University and WalMart. Neighborhood is generally new, and houses other than apartments clean. It is a safe place to live with criminal background checks. Apartments have central air.
That's about it for now. Good luck in this complex!

Overall I think that this review is a little on the ridiculous side as far as the train and mushroom stench complaints. If you would have done your homework before going into the lease, you could EASILY have seen the fact that there are train tracks across the street from the apartments and the train goes right by there. Also, the stench may be unbearable for someone who has not lived in Blandon as long as I have, but the stench only lingers every now and then. Like I said, should have done your research.

I only hear the train if I'm outside, and the smell Only once for only a few min, if you are outside near the new shoping mall. If there is a toilet problem then it's you We have never had a clog and there are 4 of us!
