Run away-far away!

Let me start out by saying that I know renting is a gamble. I've lived in Center City, Baltimore and Indianapolis, and I never had any serious problems. I would have never had guessed my renting nightmare would occur in little Boothwyn, PA.
I need a place quickly and near work. The model that I was shown was clean and in good condition. The price ($720) was right. I signed a lease. Big mistake.
I moved in in November 2004. When I walked into my apartment, the first thing I noticed was the funky smell. After that, the list of things wrong grew: the kitchen floor was dirty and there was grime caked into it, the kitcken sink was broken, the diningroom light fixture's bulbs were out, the screen on the dining room window was falling off and the bathroom floor was moldy. There is a large storage space inside the apartment; the lightfixture was broken. When you move in they give you a survey to fill out including space to list any problems. Needless to say, I handed it in right away, expecting the work to be completed in the next few days. No suck luck. After a week I called and spoke to the manager, who was not so sympathetic. Three days later I got a notice on my door saying basically, "yep, the lightfixture if broken". Nothing on that list ever got repaired.
I was here during the winter-my average heating bill was $190 a month. There is no insulation and even when you crank the heat it never got above 65 degrees in here-not that I ever did. Because the heating bill was so high I never set the dial above 64 degrees-but I still had high bills.
Now, here's my biggest complaint-you see, I'm afraid of bugs. Ants, flies, you name it, I'm a big baby. I know that they can be a common problem in apartments, but I've never had a problem. Until Meetinghouse. It started in December. I found spiders-HUGE ones. Not one or two-10 or 12 a NIGHT. I spent many sleepless nights with a broom in one hand and a can of Raid in the other. I called to complain and got put on the exterminator's list. He came (10 days later)and I thought my problems were over until January, when they came back. The exterminator came back. One night in February, I walked into my bedroom and found between 40-50 ants. In my bedroom. The thing is I travel for work and hardly ever eat any meals at home. If and when I do, I NEVER bring food in my bedroom. And there they were: ants. I called the office and the exterminator came out again. Whatever he sprayed left about 50 more ant corpses on my windowsill. Since March, I have these little weird bugs that look like worms in my carpet, as well as pinchers, silverfish more spiders and a new and unidentified bug just found this weekend. The exterminator is a nice guy and always comes over, but it's not his fault. It's the crappy building. There are gaps in the wall and the bugs just come in.
I can go on and on but I'll end with this-if you're looking at Meetinghouse, you'd be better off living in your car. At least you know it's clean.

Had the same problem with squirrels in the roof, carpenter bees in the wooden deck and numerous other bugs, I for one am happy to have kicked the dust of this place from my heels.
