I've lived at Springhouse for two years. Keep in mind--South Fayette is a very affluent community--and considering what you're paying for here, you get a good bit. I live in an apartment at Springhouse, and if you want another 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom place, you're going to pay about $200 more a month if you want to stay in South Fayette. The buildings are older. The floors do creak. I've never had a problem with parking. Sometimes you don't get to park directly next to the door, but, walking an extra 30 feet isn't going to kill you. In general, the tenants are very quiet. I've never had a problem with anyone in the office; however, I'm not one to cause trouble either. So perhaps that had something to do with someone's negative experience. I live alone, and I feel safe here.

For what you pay in rent here to live in South Fayette Township, you're not going to find any other apartment cheaper here if you want to stay in SF. The apartments do have their problems, as will any place....but when I've called about getting things fixed....they get taken care of the issue in a timely manner. I'm fairly discriminating when it comes to what I expect from where I'm renting from. I've stayed 2 years b/c it's a decent place. Perfect, no....but no place will be. And if you find a place that's 'perfect', my guess is that you'll be spending upwards of $900 a month.
