Convenient to everything, but poorly run

Update:
According to my contacts still there, Sproul has a new on-site manager. She's a power tripper, first-class, among other things that I won't type on a family web site.
Rumor has it that the management company is defending itself from several lawsuits at this point because of the rotten nature of their care for the complex and their generally ambivalent nature towards the tenants and their desire for a quality of life experience worth the extravagant rent that is charged here.
Evidently this is still a "stay away," only worse than before.
This was then:
The apartment complex sits less than a five-minute drive from two different entrances to Rt. 476 ("The Blue Route"), as well as between Rts. 1 and 3. Its also a five minute walk from a strip mall with a supermarket, a Starbucks, a "semi-kosher" deli, a TJ Maxx, a dry cleaner that does repairs, a drug store, a State Liquor store, a Barnes & Noble bookstore, a chain beauty parlor, a video rental shop, three different restaurants, and a huge primary and specialized-care medical complex that includes a well-appointed gymnasium. Its within minutes of several churches and synagogues, and the school district has an excellent reputation. All the above is the good part.
Now the bad.
The management company is from hell. They're unresponsive -- I was in the office one day and noticed that they had a medical "rush" shipment that was clearly labelled "keep refrigerated," and asked about it. I was told "They got their notice!"
Walks and entrances dont get snow removed on a timely basis. The pool looks like a polio pit most of the year, and then is cleaned up for the brief June to August season, and at that is overpriced. The parking is adequate. The buildings themselves are in a constant state of disrepair, especially around the soffits and fascia, and there is only one, Cameron, that is even worth a prospective tenants consideration, with w/d, g/d, d/w, and balcony. The hallways never seem to be repainted after the move-in season, either. Oh, yes, and there is no cable TV unless you select their program. They also hawk a telephone plan as well. Public transportation is available to and from the complex from 6:15 AM to 6:45 PM. Cats are okay, dogs no, for a $10 monthly fee. Minimum storage is also available for a fee as well.
If you have children and are looking for a good school district, Id say go for it. There is a good bit of traffic noise, depending on where your apartment faces, but the interior area of the complex is park-like and fairly quiet. If you dont have kids, but are desperate for a convenient, low-hassle location that almost doesnt require one to have a car, go for it, too.
Otherwise, pass.
